Two Men Called Adam

Question #5: Where in the Bible is it written that God told the man, created in His image, NOT to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil?

Correct Answer: Nowhere.

Spirit man called Adam

In the beginning, there were two men called Adam. One man was a spirit. The other man was earthly. The spirit man(-kind) came forth from the mouth of God before the world began.

God created the spirit man in His image, which is the body of Christ. In heaven, God told the spirit man(-kind) in Christ that he could eat from all the trees He had made. God did not exclude any tree.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. Genesis 1:29

Earthly man called Adam

Christ, the Lord God, formed the earthly man from the dust of the ground.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7

He told that man not to eat from the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil.

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:16-17

We were planted in the earth as seeds.

God told us to have dominion over everything He created. We were in Christ as we received His command and expected to be in Christ on earth as we fulfilled God’s command. The following explains the process through which we entered Christ on earth.

The seed of man was sent forth from God into the Body of Christ. (1) Here is where God gives us His purpose and grace. [See 2Timothy 1:9]

To do the will of God on earth, we needed a body. Not just any type of body would work. We required a body made for our kind, in Christ. By faith, we had to make it from the body of Christ in heaven (1) into the body of Christ on earth, (3) where our spiritual body awaits.

Our path is not directly from point A to B. Point A is the body of Christ in heaven. Point B is the body of Christ on the earth. There is a process by which we go from point A to point B

First, Christ plants the seed of man (the spirit man) into the dust of the ground, the earthly man(-kind). (2)

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. 1Corinthians 15:44

We die in the earthly man; die as in becoming separated from God. Spiritual seeds require a spiritual ground. The process is complete when we answer God’s call and reunite with Him in Christ on earth. (3)

And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: Colossians 2:10

Our power to perform God’s command to subdue and have dominion over the earth is only available to us in Christ. The earthly man had to become corrupt, so the spiritual seed of the man in him would die. Corruption is a prerequisite for death and resurrection to take place.

The earthly man(-kind) became a dishonor so the spiritual man(-kind) could be raised out of him to live in the power and glory of Christ.

It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 1 Corinthians 15:43

Planted in Christ, we put on the spiritual body of a man created in the image of God, with the life and power of God in him.

New Creatures

If you are in Christ, you are a new creature. Being a New Creature means that you have returned to your original formation.

In Greek: New: means, freshness

Creature means; original formation (properly the act; by implication the thing, literally or figuratively): building, creation, creature, ordinance.

Creature is from a root word meaning (through the idea of the proprietorship of the manufacturer); to fabricate, that is, found (form originally):

(Strong’s Exhausted Concordance: New # G2537; Creature #G2937, from G2936)

You are back inside Christ with God where you are supposed to be. In Christ, we are in the world but not of the world. The earthly man(-kind) is rooted, and grounded in the earth. We are not. We are rooted and grounded in the Spiritual body of Christ.

On the outside, we all look the same. We look like people are supposed to look. Regardless of our varying outward appearances, our earthly body is from the same materials, the dust of the ground.

Whether you are in Christ or not, the earthly man(-kind) you see in the mirror is not you. You are the breath of life in that body. Without you, that body returns to dust. Some may turn to white dust. Others may make black, red, yellow, or brown dust. That body you see in the mirror is corrupt. You should know that by now!

The Sin Virus

Sin is in the body of the earthly(-mankind). Like a virus, sin passes to everyone with the knowledge of good and evil. This is why a child remains blameless till he or she learns knowledge of good and evil. Non-believers remain separated from God because of their unbelief and the sin in the earthly body.

Christ is the life of every born-again Believer. There is no sin in Christ. In Him, our sins, past, present, and future have been washed away.

And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 1 John 3:5

Seeing the spirit man called Adam in Christ

God made man (-kind), in Christ, at Genesis 1:27.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Genesis 1:27

Christ finished making that same spirit man(-kind) in the earth, at Genesis 5:1-2

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. Genesis 5:1-2

Only the spirit man Adam and his seed after his kind are in the body of Christ.

If you are a believer, here is how to see the man Adam who is in Christ. Read this scripture with your name in it.

The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. 1Corithians 15:47

The first Your Name Here is of the earth, earthy: the second Your Name Here is the Lord from heaven.

It is not to say that you are Jesus. It means that Jesus is the life that is in you. Take away Jesus, and there would be no you. Take away you, and there will still be Jesus. Jesus Christ is the life of Adam and everyone who is in Him.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: John 11:25

The Generations of Adam

The Book of Life separates the two men called Adam by the fruit of their tree. Each man is at the beginning of his family lineage. Like any fruit-bearing tree, the two men bear fruit after their kind.

When compared to the generations of Noah, it is clear which Adam and his generations the book of Genesis is referring to. Notice here that every son that came forth from Noah is named. It would be incorrect to list the generations of Noah, excluding any one of his sons.

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Genesis 6:9-10

For this same reason, the book of Genesis is not referring to the earthly man called Adam. If it were, it would have listed every son that came forth from him. Cain, Able, and Seth are his flesh and blood generations.

It would be correct to name all three sons when listing the generations of the earthly man called Adam.

Saying, “These are the generations of Adam. And Adam begat three sons, Cain, Abel, and Seth.”

Instead, only the righteous sons of Adam are named, as the sons Adam brought forth in Christ. Able and Seth were righteous but, Cain was not.

The Book of Life is about those who were made righteous in Christ. They are Christ’s generation by faith, and they make up the body of Christ.

Noah was a just man, which means that he was righteous in Christ by faith. The spiritual man called Adam was also in Christ by faith. He brought forth fruit in Christ, after his kind. Abel and Seth were his righteous fruit. By faith, they were in Christ.

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. Hebrew 11:4

Abel was the spiritual Adam’s firstborn in Christ. Abel’s life was cut short by Cain. Cain was not made righteous. He was not born again in Christ.

Seth is the spiritual Adam’s second son to be born again in Christ.

And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew. Genesis 4:25

The Hebrew translation for the name “Seth” is “substitute.” Eve brought up Seth in Christ to take the place of righteous Abel.

Seth, who was born again, also begot a son in Christ and called his name Enos. This righteous lineage then began to call upon the name of the Lord, whom they had come to know by faith.

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. Genesis 4:26

The generations of the spirit man (-kind) make up a faith lineage called The Sons of God that began with Adam and ends with us.
