The Sons of God

Question #6: Who is the Book of Matthew about?

Correct Answer: Our generation specifically!

Forty-two generations span many thousands of years between the son of God called Abraham and the son of God called Christian.

We are the Sons of God

The sons of God answer to the name of the individual at the start of each generation. Named after Christ, Christian is our name in the Book of Life.

In the beginning, there were Two Men Called Adam.

The spiritual Adam is the start of a lineage of brothers in Christ. Each brother is a son of God and a spiritual generation in Christ by faith.

In Genesis 4:26, the sons of God started preaching the gospel, which is to invite and call upon the Lord.

…then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. Genesis 4:26

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: John 1:12

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14

John 1:12 amplified: ... even to them that believed on his name: [Before He became manifest.]

The word of God is the seed of the spirit man (-kind). By the word of God, they bring forth spiritual children after their kind in the body of Christ, thus the term “son of man.”

Before the world began, God instructed us to be fruitful and multiply in Christ. That is, exactly, what we did. By faith, one individual brought forth another, and one generation brought forth the next generation in Christ. That is how the sons of God were fruitful and multiplied in Christ on the earth as instructed.

By faith, the spirit man (-kind) called Adam is the first to receive new life in Christ.

For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

The Seed that traces back to God

Who was it that spoke the words of Genesis 3:15?

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. Genesis 3:15

It was Christ, the LORD God, who was doing the talking.

Christ spoke of two different seeds. He would give one of the seeds the power to bruise the head of Satan.

We are the seed that received the power to defeat Satan. The Holy Ghost is that power. The Holy Ghost is in our spiritual body made in Christ. And we are the only generation in Christ to receive such power.

Christ is the Spiritual lineage of man (-kind) that began with God and is traceable to God. It is all Christ.

Apart from Christ, there is no other lineage connected to God.

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. John 4:24

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

We who are in Christ now are traceable back to God through the sons of God. They are our mothers, fathers, grandparents, and others who God sent to help us hear Christ. They are family and people who witnessed to the people who witnessed to us. They are the individuals and generations of believers who lost their lives to advance our faith. Faith in the LORD goes back to the beginning.

These are the sons of God

Adam repented and received new life in Christ, the likeness of God.

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him; Genesis 5:1

Adam was fruitful and multiplied in Christ. He and his generation are the first son of God in Christ made in the image of God.

Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. Genesis 5:2

Adam brought forth Seth to take the place of righteous Abel, whom Cain killed. Seth brought forth a son called Enos. The generation called Enos was the first of the sons of God to be numbered in Christ.

And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. Genesis 4:26

The book of Jude testifies that Enoch was the seventh from Adam to be led by the Spirit of God. There was an individual and generation called Enoch.

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousand of his saints, … Jude 1:14

Noah and his generation are numbered as the eighth person in Christ to preach the Gospel.

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2 Peter 2:5

A large number of people are between these men. Noah, the individual, was not the eighth person in the world after Enos. Enoch, the individual, was not the seventh person in the world after Adam. These are generations who are named in Christ. Here is the first part of the list, which names the Sons of God in Christ.

And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his name Seth: Genesis 5:3

Afterward, the multitude called Adam lived for eight hundred years after Seth came forth. In their generation, they begat sons and daughters in Christ.

Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created. Genesis 5:2

And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: Genesis 5:4

Then they died in Christ to make way for the faith progression that was to take place in Seth and his generation.

Altogether, the son of God called Adam lived for nine hundred and thirty years.

And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years: and he died. Genesis 5:5

Who is the book of Matthew about?

From the beginning, the sons of God brought forth Christ through the preaching of the gospel. By faith, we were also brought forth through the preaching of the gospel.

Matthew 1:1 is not the start of a flesh and blood lineage from which Christ is a descendant. There is no such thing. Flesh and blood is the earthly man(-kind).

The book of Matthew is about the son of God that follows Jesus Christ. It is about a generation like Christ, who has the power of God in them. After Christ, is a son of God called a Christian. We are the generation that Jesus Christ brought forth as He said He would in Genesis 3:15.

A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. Psalms 22:30

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Matthew 1:1

The Abraham numbered in Matthew 1:1 is a son of God, in Christ. Abraham is known as the father of the faith that was in place long before he came along. These are the sons of God from Abraham to the last son counted.

The Lord Jesus is the 41st Son of God numbered in the Book of Life after Abraham, even though all the sons of God are in Him.

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and Shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53:11-12

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren… Hebrews 2:11

They "Supposed" He was one of them.

To further understand who we are in Christ, let us get rid of the idea that Christ can be traced back to God through the lineage that starts in Luke 3:23

And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli. … Luke 3:23

“Supposed” is the keyword here. The word “supposed” means something that was done out of the custom of the law. This is the Greek translation.

Supposed: nom-id’-zo (From G3551: Law, generally (regulation)) properly to do by law (usage), that is, to accustom (passively be usual); by extension to deem or regard: – suppose, think, be wont. Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance.

Therefore, Luke 3:23 should be read as follows:

Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (according to the custom of the law) the son of Joseph, which was the son of. …

The lineage in the gospel of Luke traces Christ back to the earthly man Adam, then to God the Father out of the custom of the law. It mixes righteous with unrighteous generations.

Christ did not come forth from the earthly man (-kind) through the law. He is a lineage all to Himself.

Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all. Colossians 3:11

The body of Christ is the image of a man filled with generations that are called the sons of God. Like Christ, the sons of God embody a multitude of believers. God named each generation in Christ according to its purpose. The name given to each generation is in the Book of Life.

The generations of the spirit man (-kind) make up a faith lineage that began with Adam and ends with us by name.

Matthew 1:17

Matthew 1:17 clearly says that there are forty-two generations, from Abraham to the last one to be counted.

So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations. Matthew 1:17

Write the numbers from one to forty-two on a page of writing paper. Place one name next to each number. Where is the forty-second generation of flesh and blood? It is not there because it does not exist. The numbering of flesh and blood generations does not add up.

Incorrect Mathematics:

14 Gen. + 14 Gen. + 13 Gen.= 42 Generations

The 42nd Genreation

The Bible, God’s Word, cannot be wrong. Christ brought forth the last son of God by faith.

Correct Mathematics:

Solve for x to account for Christ’s generation.

41 Generations + x = 42 Generations

x + 41 = 42

x + 41 – 41= 42 − 41

x=1 Generation

X equals one generation, or generation X. Sounds familiar?

God identified a son as “generation X” thousands of years before our time. What is the name of generation X? Christian, because X accounts for us. We are a son of God. Christian is our name in the Book of Life.
