I BELIEVE, our challenge, as Christians, is to live. It is also to glorify God to the point our family, friends, and others may see His works and live. The Real Book of Life has opened, and God is pouring out understanding for a reason. I believe it is so we can stand with Him in Christ through the dangers on hand. So you understand, my work is between God, me, and what I believe!

Everything shall be yes LORD!The Book of Life Challenge is a journey through the Bible from cover to cover. We are asking questions and RECEIVING answers from the Word of the LORD. Initially, it was wrong for me to make this a contest about money, with weekly cash giveaways. The LORD will bless whoever He will, with understanding, might, and the power to do whatever as we proceed on this journey.

Was There A World that Ended Before OUR World Began?

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there were no more sea. Revelation 21:1

  • If the first heaven and earth were passed away, does that mean the heaven and earth created in Genesis 1:1 was destroyed?

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Genesis 1:1

And the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2

Hebrew translations of key words:

Without form: means to lie waste; a desolation (of surface), that is, desert, figuratively a worthless thing;

Void: meaning to be empty, an undistinguishable ruin. [A ruin is something destroyed.]

Darkness: figuratively misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness

Question #1: Does Genesis 1:2 describe the destruction of the heaven and earth created in Genesis 1:1?   Yes or No?

  • If Genesis 1:2 describes the destruction of the first heaven and earth, wouldn’t Genesis 1:3 to 1:5 describe a new beginning?

And God said, Let there be light, and there was light. Genesis 1:3

And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:4

And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. Genesis 1:5

[*Notice in the KJV, Day and Night are capitalized.]

Question #2: Does Genesis 1:3 to 1:5 describe a new beginning for heaven and earth as we know it?    Yes or No?

Is Christ the Beginning of the World As We Know it?

  • If God in Genesis 1:3 creates a new beginning, should it begin with Christ?

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8

And he said unto me, it is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. Revelation 21:6

And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. Revelation 3:14

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:17

Question #3: Is Christ the beginning of the creation of God?    Yes or No?

  • If Christ is the beginning of the creation of God, and God began by creating light, would that make Christ the light of the world?

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5

I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. John 12:46

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:4

Question #4: Is Christ the light of life for the world?    Yes or No?

  • If Genesis 1:3 is the Spiritual light of Christ, wouldn’t the world still have need for natural forms of lights?

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. Genesis 1:15

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. Genesis 1:16

[*Notice unlike Genesis 1:5, day and night are lower cased.]

Question #5: Do the natural lights of the fourth day differ from the light that Christ provided on the first day?  Yes or No?

  • If Christ is the light of life that came forth out of the mouth of God, would that make him God’s WORD?

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one. 1 John 5:7

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life. 1 John 1:1

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father) full of grace and truth. John 1:14

In the beginning was the Word; and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  John 1:1

The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:2

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:3

Question #6: Is Christ the Word of God?    Yes or No?

  • If Christ is the Word of God and made all things, wouldn’t Christ have to hear and see how God created things BEFORE he could make anything?

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. John 5;19

I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge; and my judgment is just; because I seek not my own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. John 5:30

Question #7: Must Jesus watch and listen to God’s instructions BEFORE He can create what God wants Him to make?    Yes or No?

  • If Christ first needs to see God make a creation BEFORE He can create anything, shouldn’t the Book of Genesis show God giving Christ instructions as He is creating things?

Example: And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. Genesis 1:6

And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. Genesis 1:7

See Genesis 1:8 through Genesis 2:1 for the rest of the finished works of God.

Question #8 Did God give instructions on what He wanted to be done in heaven and earth BEFORE He did the work Himself?   Yes or No?

  • If God were instructing Christ when He said, Let us make man in our image, would that make Christ the image of God?

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.2 Corinthians 4:4

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature.Colossians 1:15

Question #9 Is Christ the image of God? Yes or No?

  • If Christ is the image of God, and we were created “IN” Him, does that mean we were “IN” Christ Jesus  before the world began?

Who hath saved us, and and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. 2 Timothy 1:9

Question #10: Were we in Christ Jesus before the world began? Yes or No?

  • Before the world began, did God in heaven, show us His will was done and how we were to do His will on earth.
